Wheat is one of the leading crops in Tennessee.  In 2011, wheat was the 8th most profitable agricultural commodity in the state, with more than 310,000 acres harvested.  Primarily grown in the winter months, Tennessee produced wheat is mainly used for milling general purpose flour, pastry flour and cake flour.
